Ralph H. Boyer
Ralph was a member of the Dover Fire Department.

Ralph H. Boyer joined the Robbins Hose Company of Dover in 1935 as a mascot and went on to serve in many other capacities including Secretary, Vice President, President and Fire Chief. He attained life membership with Robbins Hose in 1936. From 1939 - 1948, he was the Fire Chief at Dover Air Force Base, where he was instrumental in obtaining the departments first Cardox System on a crash truck. He served on the Delaware State Fire Prevention Commission, and was Chairman in 1961. Mr. Boyer started the Capitol Fire Equipment Company, which later became the Capitol Office Equipment Company. He and his wife Bertha owned and operated the company until their retirement until 1978. In the early 1960's Ralph helped to start the Dover Pony Baseball League for boys aged 13 & 14. He was active in the People's Church of Dover, the Kent County Board of Elections, was a member of the Dover Rotary Club and was a recipient of the club's Paul Harris Award in 1982. In 1985, a Dover City Council resolution recognized Mr. Boyer's contributions to the Robbins Hose Company and the community. Also in 1985, the Dover Chamber of Commerce honored Ralph H. Boyer as "Man of the Year". He was laid to rest in Lakeside Cemetery, Dover, Delaware. His wife Bertha W. Boyer died in 1991. Surviving were a son, Charles H. Boyer and two grandchildren.
