Adam Ryan of Laurel is Presented a Life Safety Award - Cheswold

On October 7, 2009 Adam Ryan was walking home from school when he noticed a person lying on the ground after having been struck by a tree. Adam went to a neighbors home called 911 then went back to the scene to direct the emergency crew. The Laurel Fire Department arrived onscene to find a traumatic injury patient unconcscious on the ground with Adam standing next to him. The patient was packaged and transported to the hospital. Chief Steve Brittingham and EMT Leah Miller stated that today you do not see young folks show this kind of courage.
