81 Fallen Firefighters will Be Honored at National Memorial on Sunday, October 6, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Among the fallen will be Justin Townsend of the Dagsboro Fire Company. All Delaware Firefighters are encouraged to attend the beautiful service honoring those who gave their life in 2012. More than 5,000 people, including Members of Congress, Administration officials and other dignitaries, members of the fire service, and families, friends, and co-workers of the fallen firefighters are expected to attend. Families will receive flags flown over the U. S. Capitol and the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial. Members of the fire service, honor guard units and pipe and drum units from across the U.S. will participate in this national remembrance. In addition to Justin, there will be the two firefighters from Philadelphia who perished in a fire last year and the two volunteer firefighters from West Webster, New York, who were slain by a sniper while responding to a house fire. The National Fire Service will come together on this day to honor those who perished and their families, why not join the rest from Delaware who will be attending.
