Sunday, March 8, 2020
On September 24, 2014, Governor Markell signed the HB315, HB317 and SB207 which were the EMS Legislation passed last session by the General Assembly. The signing ceremony was held at the Cheswold Fire Company. A number of DVFA Officers and Members were in attendance, as well as a number of legislators. The three co-chairs of the EMS Task Force, Senator Bruce Ennis, Representative Bill Carson and Mike Cochran spoke on behalf of the bills. Past President Toulson thanked the Governor and Legislators for their work on the legislation. The DVFA wishes to thank Cheswold for their hospitality and providing their facility and Volunteer Hose and Hartly Fire Companies for providing ambulances for the ceremony. Also, that day the Governor Signed HB372. HB372 is the Hometown Heroes legislation which aligns the Delaware LODD statute to the Federal Governments one. This was a major piece of Legislation sponsored by Representative Dan Short of Seaford.
