Lewis W. Walker, Sr., 48, suffered a fatal heart attack while on duty with the Pennsylvania Railroad as he stopped his engine in Massey, Maryland. He had been an employee of the railroad for 30 years. Mr. Walker served as Chief of the Clayton Fire Company, was a member of Harmony Lodge #13 A.F. & A.M. of Smyrna, the Delaware Consistory, Lu Lu Temple, the Clayton Methodist Church and the Pennsylvania Railroad Company Brotherhood of Engineers. He was elected to the Delaware Volunteer Firefighters Association Hall of Fame. At the time of his death, Mr. Walker was survived by his wife Mrs. Florence David Walker, his father, Lewis H. Walker and his two children, Lewis W. Walker, Jr., and Mary F. Walker. Lewis W. Walker, Sr. was laid to rest in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna, Delaware.
