Assistant Chief Frank R. Kindell died at home as a result of injuries from an auto accident a couple weeks prior, when responding to a fire call.  He was 55 years of age.  In addition to being an officer for the Washington Fire Company, he was a foreman for the Street and Sewer Department of Wilmington.  He was survived by his wife and four children.
