Charles Ezekiel Dill served as a firefighter with the Frederica Volunteer Fire Company. Around 8 am on the morning of April 12, 1980, Charles was enroute to Delaware State Fire School to attend a training class for fire instructors. A tractor trailer drifted across the center line, colliding with his car on US 113, just north of Barker’s Landing Bridge. Charles was dead on arrival at Kent General Hospital.
